*EXCISE TAX: Since January 2, 2012, hard coal and coke are subject to excise tax under the provisions of the Act of December 6, 2008, on Excise Duty (Journal of Laws of 2011, No. 108, item 626, as amended).
The excise tax rate for coal products is as follows:
Excise duty on one ton of hard coal: PLN 30.46 net,
Excise duty on one ton of lignite: PLN 11.00 net,
Excise duty on one ton of coke: PLN 35.20 net.
However, several exemptions from excise tax are provided for coal and coke used:
for purposes other than economic activity, including by: households, public administration bodies, educational system entities, nurseries and children’s clubs, healthcare entities, social welfare organizational units,
for conducting certain types of economic activity, including: in agricultural, horticultural processes, fish farming, and forestry.
